3 Simple Tips To Getting A Rejuvenating, Energy Recharging, Rest

Have you ever experienced sleeping for more than 8 hours, which is the recommended hours of sleep, yet you didn’t feel as if you have had enough rest? Or have you felt tiresome and exhausted after a long nap? If you are wondering why this happens, this article might be of great help.

These 3 tips will help you get more rest and recovery from your sleep, leaving you a completely recharged by the time you wake up.

1. Develop a sleep routine.

7 out of 10 times, people start seeing an immediate boost in energy as soon as they take the time to create a night time routine. As part of your night time routine, remove distractions such as TV or internet or things that may stimulate your mind and body.

2. Ditch the sugar and the caffeine

Our cortisol levels rise and drop all throughout the day. When we use caffeine, sugar, or other stimulants to raise our energy levels, we also are artificially stimulating our cortisol levels. If our cortisol levels remain high for too long, it can lead to the symptoms of chronic stress such as fatigue, hyperglycaemia, brain fog, etc. Continued still, you may experience a condition known as adrenal fatigue.

Not only can habitually high cortisol levels affect your energy levels for the worse, but they have been linked to weight gain especially around the mid section. Furthermore, caffeine has been shown to remain in the body for 12 to 14 hours which makes it difficult for one to get the relaxed and quality hours of rest and recover even after they have snoozed all night.

3. Clean up your bedroom

This may seem like a weird way to ensure you get a good night’s rest. You’ll feel positive energy emitting from yourself after cleaning your room. It was a form of emotional stress relief.

It is a common belief that we gain energy not only from what we put into ourselves, but also from the environment in which we spend time. What’s more interesting is this is especially true for environments that are close to us like the bedroom. The bedroom is considered to be a very private and a place that is close to your heart. If our bedroom is cluttered, it impacts us emotionally and can reveal itself as emotional stress whether we know it or not.

Furthermore, psychologists say that the thoughts you have before drifting off to bed at night and the ones you have when you first wake up are the most important of the day. By clearing up the clutter in your bedroom and life, you will surely have better, more positive, and happier thoughts getting in and out of bed.

With these three easy sleep tips, you are guaranteed to feel refreshed, rejuvenated and energized the next time you wake up.
