Watching TV Increases Your Risk of Early Death

Attention for all office workers, TV addicts, Facebookers, and anyone else who spends eight or ten hours/day sitting, you are at risk of dying from heart attack by 18 percent. The study published by Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association found out that it is not just heart disease; risks from cancer and stroke are also possible. So, here are some few tips in lessening your stationary time and become healthy and fit.

* Cut down your chair time. Try to get up and do some stretching once an hour. Opt to get a drink or use the restroom on another floor. You may also take a quick walk around the block during your regular breaks.
* If your company has amenities such as a gym, a lot some time to do workouts at the office.
* Instead of the elevator, take the stairs. Walk or bike to work when possible.
* Stretch and stand up. Remember that even the act of getting on your feet is an improvement over sitting.
