Some salad dressing contains too many calories especially if it contains mayonnaise. If you want a healthier alternative, here is a list of salad dressings that are tasty and low in calories too.
1. Combine wasabi and low sodium soy sauce. Add a teaspoon of olive oil and a tablespoon of lemon juice to make your salad spicy. Spicy food can help you lose weight because it makes you eat less.
2. Make hummus by placing canned garbanzo beans in a food processor. Add in the juice of 2 lemons, half of the liquid from the beans, 1 tablespoon of tahini or ground sesame seeds, a handful of unsalted cashews, two tablespoons of olive oil, and 2 tablespoons of yellow curry powder. Add salt and pepper to taste. Blend and add more liquid from the beans as needed.
3. Make vinaigrette using cilantro and avocado. Combine lime juice, ¾ tablespoon of olive oil, ¼ tablespoon of white vinegar, cubed avocado and cilantro leaves in a food processor. Add pepper and Blend.
4. Make citrus vinaigrette by combining the juice of any citrus fruit of your choice (lime, lemon, tangerine, and grapefruit), add white wine vinegar, a tablespoon of olive oil and freshly ground pepper.
5. Add salsa to your salads. Make your own or get the store bought salsa.
