Calories Burnt Whilst Exercising

The most effective way of burning calories and losing weight is to exercise daily.  A lot of products out there promise faster results in a few days only to find out that you have been fooled.  So stop taking the easy way out and start exercising.  Be patient because it will take a lot of time and work but you’ll be satisfied with the results.

To help you choose, here is a list of exercises that burn more calories than any other physical activities.

1.  Running.  You burn more calories when you run.  But if you have been running for the same distance for a long time, change your routine.   Your body will eventually adjust to the intensity of the workout and it may be less effective so it is a must to change your routine after a few weeks.  Here is an idea of the calories you burn from an hour of running, depending on your size and pace:

* If you weigh 130 lbs and have a pace of 10 mph, you will burn around 944 calories.  A person weighing 20 pounds more with the same pace will burn around 1120 calories

2. Walking also burns a lot of calories.  Your burnt calories will also depend on your weight and speed of walking.  Heavier people will burn more calories than lighter people at exactly the same pace.

3.  Cycling doesn’t only burn calories, you also get to see the beauty of the surroundings as you cruise through it.  If you weigh 130-150 pounds, leisure cycling at 10mph will burn about 230-280 calories.  Also try cross country cycling or stationary cycling.

4.  Swimming burns as much calories as running.  You can do it indoors or outdoors and it is very relaxing.  If you are an experienced swimmer, an hour of backstroke or butterfly stroke will burn 470 to 560 and 770 calories respectively.  Simply treading on water for an hour will burn 300 calories.

Always remember to perform these exercises according to your size.  Do not overexert your body by doing more physical activities just to burn more calories.
