Following portion sizes sounds like a chore to a perfectly normal human being. But it just might be totally okay with those who have obsessive-compulsive disorder. Imagine having to measure every different element on your plate before you eat. Lunch time is over before you have already finished counting green peas and cutting steaks.
Fast-food chains and restaurants also do not seem to be too concerned about portion sizes. For instance, you can go into an Outback Steakhouse and you will see a “bloomin’ onion” that looks like a deep-fried prehistoric creature.

A new survey entitled, Portion Size: Understanding the Consumer Perspective, shows people like having portion size information on packages, but don’t follow them closely, and tend to buy extra. Some people don’t care one way or another. 36% said they ignore portion sizes, and 38% eat whatever they want, regardless of labels.
They say the more laws a country has, the more crimes there are. Does this apply to food labels and serving instructions, too? Well, it looks like it.
